Software Engineer

Hey there! We're a small team of three people working on Screen Studio - an app allowing people to create beautiful videos easily. We're looking for a software engineer to join us and help us to continue developing it and delivering the highest user experience possible. About the position

  • You’ll join as 2nd engineer helping people create delightful videos of their digital products.
  • You’ll work on delivering new features in the Screen Studio app and ensure the User Experience is always on the highest level possible.
  • You’ll ensure bugs are fixed with top priority and long-term stability in mind.
  • You’ll support marketing, sales, and support by working on our landing page, automating processes needed in those areas, and creating tooling to help us succeed there.

About you

  • You created projects in the past you consider impressive.
  • You can create horizontally scalable architecture to solve complex engineering problems.
  • You have years long experience working on advanced projects written in TypeScript and React.
  • You deeply care about User Experience and can deliver code that allows creating such both short-term (great frontend code) and long-term (great high-level, sustainable architecture)
  • You worked at start-ups before and understand the dynamics of working in such a work environment.

Tech stack

  • Almost the entire codebase is written in TypeScript. Some core parts of it are written in Swift.
  • The app is created using Electron.
  • Styled Components with a custom, in-house theming system
  • Mobx is used for handling data.
  • The rendering engine is created using Pixi.js (with React Pixi Fiber)
  • Fully type-safe TRPC is used for communication between the renderer and the app's main process.
  • Yarn workspaces is used to create monorepo architecture for sharing code between parts of the projects and creating clear boundaries between packages.
  • Web and API are deployed on Vercel (Next.js)
